Peter taught proper handling and preparation of steaks at five different White Spots in Calgary before he went out on his own. He owned two restaurants and a bar in Bow Island, Alberta for ten years, followed by two years in Olds, before settling in Didsbury in 1999.

Sharon has both Level I and Level II Food & Beverage Certificates. All staff must pass Food Handling courses, and all servers have ProServe certification.

Macy's Restaurant is a family business, and Niko, their son, also works as a server. Daughter, Gina rounds out the family.

Peter and Sharon chose Didsbury as their home because they felt the small farming community had everything they needed. With its close proximity to larger centres like Red Deer and Calgary, yet the small town feel of a safe community, they believe Didsbury is a good place to raise their family. In fact, it was the beautiful entrance to town that captivating them on their first visit.

Peter and Sharon support programs, events and activities in the community, including:

• Turkeys for Christmas hampers
• Ross Ford's Cowabunga family dance and silent auction; most recently funds were raised to build a wheelchair accessible playground structure
• Milk for Life Program at Westglen Middle School and Two lunch meals a week at Didsbury High
• Didsbury Rodeo, Horse Show, & Thunder on the Prairies Fireworks
• DHS Band Society (with pizza coupons throughout the year)
• Purchasing new jerseys for Didsbury's soccer team
• Hockey tournaments, Farmers Bonspiel, Rosebud Run's Junior racers, and many others.
